Taiwan-based Quanta Computer, a specialist in the production of notebook computers, servers, mobile phones and automotive electronics, has established two manufacturing centers in eastern China: Quanta Shanghai and Quanta Changshu Manufacturing City. Built in March 2001, QSMC（Quanta Shanghai Manufacturing City）is located in the Shanghai’s Songjiang Export Processing Zone (EPZ) and includes seven subsidiary companies: Tech Front, Tech Com Computer, Tech Wave Logistics, Tech Lead Computer, Tech Giant Computer, Tech Trend Computer and Song Yeh (Shanghai) Management Co., Ltd., all specializing in the production of notebook computers. During the last 8 years, QSMC has experienced rapid development, with its personnel expanding from 200 employees to more than 40,000 and amount of exports increasing from U.S $ 170 million in 2001 to U.S. $25 billion in 2008.

Built in 2006, CSMC（Quanta Changshu Manufacturing City）is located in the High-Tech Industrial Park in Changshu, Jiangsu Province, and is home to more than ten core supporting companies including Tech Full Computer. It chiefly produces MP4 and non-notebook computers. In merely two years, CSMC has expanded its workforce to more than 6,000. In 2008 sales has reached 9.7 billion RMB. It has become the largest enterprise in Changshu and one of the Top 20 largest import & export enterprises in Suzhou.

Quanta manufacturing, which is based in east China, has formed strong manufacturing and resource integration capabilities, and has become an important component of Quanta Computer. Founded in 1988, Quanta Computer is currently the world's largest R & D and manufacturing company for Notebook Computers. The long-term development strategy of Quanta is "Taking root in Taiwan and expanding globally ". Centering around Quanta R & D Park designing and manufacturing high value-added products, and based on mainland manufacturing factories in east China, Quanta is able to win the competitive edge in global manufacturing and sales by integrating all the plants from America, Europe and Asia while encircling the construction of operations center in Taiwan.

In 2006, Quanta computer reached its milestone in becoming one of the Top 500 in the American Fortune magazine. Only three years later it moved up to No.342 in the list.
